For those of us that either travel to Canada for dog shows/competitions or import dogs/puppies from the great north, the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) has clarified some of the rules and regulations for bringing dogs into the country. The key change is for dogs under the age of 8 months. If you are traveling for a show, you MUST present proof of the dog’s entry in a dog show, trial, or other competitive event. Otherwise, you must contact CFIA Animal Health Area Office for the province you are visiting AT LEAST 30 DAYS in advance.
Please visit the CFIA website for additional guidance. http://bit.ly/169C4uU
